The ministry of our Acolyte are such an integral part of the sacred and divine worship at Saint Andrew’s Church. The word acolyte is taken from the Greek word acolytos, which means meaning companion, or helper. The acolyte ministry has its roots in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, where the prophet Samuel is seen assisting Eli, the Levite priest, and Elisha is seen assisting Elijah the Prophet. These men are called to serve at the Holy of Holies, and recognize their service is an offering to Him and come prepared to fully participate and assist in worship.
