Our Vision

In the latter months of 2019, a few families began to casually discuss the ministerial demand for an all English worshipping Orthodox Church community on Long Island. Many people born and raised in the Orthodox Christian faith have stopped being active in their parish communities. Some of them identified as being jaded, hurt, disconnected to their communities, while others felt the difficulty of connecting to their faith due to an language barrier.

These families approached Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos of the Northeast American Diocese, with their vision, and desire to establish such a faith community. Their intent was to reach out to those who have stopped coming to the Orthodox Church, and offer a safe haven for them, and for all those who may be interested in the Orthodox Christian faith.

The Diocesan Metropolitan offered his blessing to organize such a community in January 2020, and is now recognized as a parish of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. It is our prayer that God will plant in our hearts sincere humility, to be used as instruments to bring those who are seeking the Holy Orthodox Christian faith, so they can receive healing as offered to us by our Lord, through His Church.

Our Goals

We are a community with a vision to Grow in Christ, Serve in Christ and Build in Christ.

Grow in Christ

Throughout the year our parish faithful have the opportunity to grow in Christ through our beautiful daily worship, retreats during Lent and at the beginning of the liturgical new year, annual conferences, monthly bible studies, men and women fellowships, MGOCSM, middle school ministry and Sunday School.

Serve in Christ

Our faithful offer their time through service on a weekly basis at the North Shore Soup Kitchen in Glen Cove by preparing warm meals and serving it to the homeless population. We strive to teach our children the importance of community service through their avid participation in preparing care packages for the homeless population of New York City, through our partnership with One Love Mission on a quarterly basis.

Build in Christ

Our community is prayerfully seeking to purchase our own permanent home so we can worship our Lord Jesus Christ through our ancient Christian faith, and be a light to the world through community outreach and service. Having our own place of worship will further strengthen our faithful to be witnessing Christians, so we can invite those who are in need of Christ's love through the therapeutic model of the Orthodox Christian Church
